Rabies is one of the diseases causing continuous concerns in The Gambia. Due to hundreds of street dogs and uncountable stray cats in the dense populated area from Banjul to Serekunda it easily spreads in the packs. Puppies are more affected since adult dogs try to avoid strange behaving animals.
Please be aware when you approach dogs on the streets! Make sure you seek early treatments in case you are bitten by any dog or cat of unknown rabies vaccination status!
